PROS And CONS Of Living In Charlotte, North Carolina

Facts About Living In Charlotte NC That Could Blow Your Mind

Question: What are the pros and cons of living in Charlotte, North Carolina? Answer: Charlotte NC is a beautiful city with easy access to the Mountains (think Asheville) and the Beaches of North Carolina as well as South Carolina. So, you're in New York or New Jersey and asking this question, "Is Charlotte a good place to live?". Yes, for many people wanting to leave the hard winters and high taxes in New York, Charlotte has become a great place to relocate to. Check my YouTube channel playlist called "Charlotte REALTOR® Reviews - Testimonials" to spot plenty of folks who moved from New York, like Chris and Nicole's answer to the question "Why move to Charlotte NC" in their relocation story called "Moving to Charlotte the Right Move for You?"

One thing I love to point out to folks wanting to move to Charlotte is the proximity to the beaches. Not only is Charlotte close to the mountains of North Carolina, but she's also just a few hour's drive to many excellent Atlantic Ocean beaches. North Carolina? How about Emerald Isle, Atlantic Beach, Oak Island, Bald Head Island, Topsail Island, and those amazing Outer Banks destinations (a bit farther from Charlotte). South Carolina? Start at Myrtle Beach and head south! Kiawah Island and Seabrook, Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, and my favorite is also one of the largest islands on the East Coast, Hilton Head SC (I moved to Charlotte from HHI).

Having a great international airport like Charlotte Douglas International Airport - CLT makes Charlotte one of the best places to live in North Carolina. On a trip to Europe last year, Patty and I flew from CLT directly to Amsterdam and flew back on a direct flight from Paris. Wow. And then, there's the regional airport in nearby Concord known as the Concord-Padgett Regional Airport with cheap and easy flights to a number of popular destinations. We had a great experience last year with a direct flight to the Florida panhandle for a few days.

Unconventional Knowledge About Living In Charlotte NC

What are the cons of living in Charlotte? Well, like any popular relocation destination, traffic is increasing. I like using Google maps' Directions feature to figure commute time. And like any large metropolitan city, beautiful Charlotte NC has her share of crime. Area Vibes might be a good resource, but, hey, I live in a lovely south Charlotte subdivision and they give us a poor grade in that rating.

Is Charlotte NC a good place to live? Well, the fact that I moved to Charlotte from Hilton Head Island might tell the story! My ticket south from Indiana was a move to the South Carolina coastal paradise of HHI for three amazing years. But hey, I fooled around and fell in love with a beautiful woman who lived in Charlotte, so that answered the question of "Should I move to North Carolina?" The rest is history. So maybe a great answer could be discovered in my vlog post, "Happy Things to Expect When Moving to Charlotte NC - Video". Remember, it's never too late to be happy!
